weekends with us

winery hopping in overalls

Sometimes you just need to get out of the house to get rid of those end-of-winter blues. We can often get stuck in a rut during the winter months, being all cozy at home, watching Netflix and, you know, just doing the same old thing. Now that the warmer months are well on their way, we are pretty excited to get more into exploring our new home city.

Emile and I are both fans of a glass of vino or two, with Tasmania (where we've moved from) being known for their cool-climate wines. Little did I know that Canberra is absolutely surrounded by wineries! I feel like we hardly made a dent when we visited 3 wineries a couple of weekends ago. We decided to take a drive to Murrumbateman, about 30 minutes out of Canberra. There are heaps of vineyards and cellar doors along the way, but we visited Long Rail Gulley Wines, Shaw Vineyard Estate and Murrumbateman Winery. Murrumbateman Winery happened to have a 'dog picnic' on that day, which was heaven for us dog-lovers-but-not-dog-owners. It was the perfect Saturday, doing a few wine-tastings and picking up a bottle or two at each to fill our 'cellar'. Winery hopping is hands-down one of my favourite weekend activities.

P.S. I am loving my new overalls from Glassons and my new boots from Bared Footwear. Perfectly casual outfit for a spring day out in the country.
